The CanAm Bowl began July of 1997 when an American all-star team made the trip to Canada to play a Saskatchewan all-star team in Porcupine Plain, Saskatchewan hosted by Bjorkdale. The USA won that inaugural game 40 - 22.
The CanAm Bowl is a 6-man all-star game that showcases the USA (Montana, Nebraska, Wyoming, & Texas) against Canada (Saskatchewan & Alberta). Players selected to represent their country must be a high school graduate of the current year in which the game is played and have played at least their grade 12 year as a member of a 6-man football program. Canadian players will be selected for CanAm this year through the Saskatchewan vs. Alberta all-star process.
