2013 Ed Henick Senior Bowl XXIX

Andreychuk The 29th edition of the Ed Henick Senior Bowl takes place on May 20, 2013 in Regina and it is going to be a brand new event for Saskatchewan. Football Saskatchewan is expanding the Senior Bowl format to have a 6, 9 & 12 man Senior Bowl Teams! Replacing the first camp will be the Saskatchewan Combine which is for graduating players in 2013, 2014, 2015. For the North the combine will be held March 24, 2013 in Saskatoon, and April 7, 2013 in Moose Jaw for the South. These one day Combines are conducted in each cities respective field house and have the same format. The morning session will consist of a testing mirroring the NFL Combine tests (40 yard time, a 20 yard time, vertical jump, shuttle run, L-test, standing broad jump and a bench press). Following a break for lunch, the camp will resume with the afternoon session consisting of position specific skills and drills. The intent of the Ed Henick Senior Bowl game is to showcase the best high school football players who have used their last year of eligibility in a North vs. South all-star game. From the April 20/21 selection camp the top 40 - 12man, 27 - 9man, 18 - 6man players from each camp will be selected to take part in the 29th edition of the game. The respective North/South Coaching staffs will run the two a day practices scheduled for that weekend with guest coaches from the high school leagues. The weekend tryout/training camps will consist of four practices, two Saturday and two Sunday. Players will be evaluated by the Senior Bowl coaching staff and will be notified the following day by email if they will be representing one of the Senior Bowl teams.

The Ed Henick Senior Bowl Game changes locations between Regina’s Mosaic Stadium and University of Saskatchewan’s Griffiths Stadium. This year’s game is being played in Regina at Mosaic Stadium with Team South looking for their 7th consecutive victory; Team South leads the all-time series 17-10.
