In recent years participation in the 6 Nations Challenge by other provinces has declined, so much that in 2014 the event was cancelled. The growth of Football in the aboriginal population is a priority for Football Saskatchewan and we believe the 6 Nations Challenge was an excellent opportunity to showcase the aboriginal talent from throughout the province. In order to keep growing and promoting the aboriginal talent Saskatchewan has to offer for football, Football Sask decided to hold the 6 Nations Elite Development Camp in 2014, 2015, 2016 & again in 2017.
The 6 Nations Elite Development Camp is an excellent opportunity to showcase aboriginal talent and to develop the skills of young players in grades 9-11. Coaches are to nominate their players of aboriginal descent based on their character, knowledge and passion for the game of football. There will be a maximum of 40 players in attendance and a live scrimmage will take place at the conclusion of the camp. Players may come from 12, 9, or 6 man football programs and the teams will be selected so that all regions of Saskatchewan can be represented at the event.
The 2017 6 Nations Elite development Camp will be held in Regina from August 3-6! In order to participate in the camp players must be nominated by their coach or school. Nomination forms need to be submitted to Football Saskatchewan and the coach & nominee will be contacted if they have been selected to participate in the camp or not. If selected, nominees will need to register online through our website. Please have your coach fill out the nomination form below and submit it to Brenden Bennett at firstname.lastname@example.org.
